Resumen: Benito Pérez Galdós (Las Palmas 1843-Madrid 1920) sintió vocación temprana por el teatro, y con un drama posromántico inició su andadura literaria. Dedicado a la literatura como profesional a partir de 1970, destacó como novelista mediante un realismo muy personal en la línea del europeo de la época. En 1892 subió a las tablas del Teatro de la Comedia de Madrid con el éxito de Realidad. En adelante, se suceden en su creación novela y teatro con interrelaciones interesantes. Su éxito más ruidoso fue Electra, en 1901. No sólo fue Galdós autor de teatro, sino teórico del género en distintos medios sociales.

Abstract: Benito Pérez Galdós (Las Palmas 1843-Madrid 1920) had an early vocation for the theater, and it was with a post-romantic drama that he began his literary career. Dedicated to literature as a professional from 1970, he stood out as a novelist of a very personal realism - in the line of the European of the time. In 1892 he rose to the tables of the Madrid Comedy Theater with the success of Realidad. Henceforth, novels and plays follow one another with interesting interrelations. His loudest success was Electra, in 1901. Galdós was not only author of theater, but also a theoretician of the genre in different social media.
