APROXIMACIÓN AL TEATRO DE JULIÁN AYESTA

Resumen: El artículo presenta a Julián Ayesta, figura conocida en la narrativa española por su novela Helena o el mar del verano, en su apenas vislumbrada faceta de autor teatral. El trabajo se divide en tres partes: en primer lugar, se presenta una introducción biográfica, con especial atención hacia los aspectos de la vida de Ayesta relacionados con el mundo teatro; a continuación se exponen las líneas maestras de su preceptiva teatral y, finalmente, se analizan las tres breves piezas teatrales que llegó a publicar. Aporta, además, un anexo con la relación de reseñas y noticias aparecidas en la prensa madrileña con motivo del estreno de El tímido Serafín.

APPROACH TO THE JULIÁN AYESTA'S DRAMA

Abstract: The article introduces Julián Ayesta, figure known in Spanish fiction for his novel Helena o el mar del verano, in his little-known role as a playwright. The work is divided in three parts: first, it presents a biographical introduction, with particular attention to the aspects of Ayesta’s life related to the theatre world, then it outlines the mandatory guidelines of its theatrical preceptive and, finally, it analyzes the three short plays that he published. It also provides an annex with a list of reviews and reports in the Madrid press for the premiere of the work El tímido Serafín.
