Resumen: La figura del pícaro y la picaresca más en general representan en la trayectoria vital y artística de Fernando Fernán-Gómez una presencia constante que da lugar a varias formas de reelaboración temática y formal, así como a interesantísimos fenómenos de trasvase intermedial y auto-reescritura. En el presente artículo se pretende recalcar la función estratégica que la reelaboración teatral de sus versiones del personaje y de la materia picaresca desempeña en el desarrollo de dichas dinámicas, incluso en las facetas más autobiográficas de las creaciones del autor y director.

THE PICARESQUE AND THE ART OF PRETENCE
Abstract: The figure of the pícaro, and the picaresque more generally, represent in Fernando Fernán-Gómez's vital and artistic career a constant presence that gives rise to various forms of thematic and formal reworking, as well as to very interesting phenomena of intermedial transfer and self-rewriting. This article aims to emphasize the strategic role that the theatrical reworking of his versions of the character and picaresque material plays in the development of these dynamics, even in the most autobiographical facets of the author and director's creations.
